Mitsuimo Senju
A moment to unwind in the city.
Specializing in baked sweet potatoes, Mitsuimo Senju in Senju serves varieties from Silk Sweet to Beni Haruka, alongside sea salt ice cream pairings, smoothies, and freshly whisked matcha.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The lineup at Mitsuimo Senju spotlights the diverse traits of different sweet potato cultivars, from the silky, melt-in-the-mouth texture of Silk Sweet to the dense, syrupy sweetness of the Beni Haruka lineage, along with distinctive varieties like Anno Beni and Amahazuki. Because each type carries its own balance of moisture, sweetness, and fiber, sampling more than one reveals noticeable differences. Roasted until their natural sugars concentrate and glisten, every piece delivers deep, comforting warmth.
Beyond plain baked potatoes, the shop offers varied dessert interpretations. The Mitsuimo Shio pairs roasted sweet potato with sea salt ice cream, where a touch of salinity highlights the caramelized natural sweetness. For a drinkable treat, the sweet potato smoothie delivers concentrated flavor, while freshly whisked Kyoto first-harvest matcha and hot coffee are prepared to order, offering a pleasant counterpoint to the rich sweets.
Orders are available for takeaway at the counter, or customers can take a seat in the dedicated eat-in area. It serves equally well as a stop for an afternoon snack to take home or a quiet break with a chilled dessert during a neighborhood stroll.
